In accordance with Article 4 of its Bylaws, the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Seville Area, within the framework of the provisions of the Law on the Organization of Urban and Metropolitan Passenger Transport in Andalusia, has competence in the following areas:
- Proposal for the preparation and initial approval of the Metropolitan Transport Plan.
- Proposal for modifications that do not involve the revision of the Metropolitan Transport Plan.
- Participation in the drafting of the Metropolitan Transport Plan and its modifications and revisions.
- Regulation, coordination, control, inspection, and sanctioning of services, traffic, infrastructure, and facilities declared of metropolitan interest, with the exception of those provided for in the second paragraph of Article 13.3 of the Law on the Organization of Urban and Metropolitan Passenger Transport in Andalusia.
- Regulation and coordination of other transport services not included in the previous section that operate within the metropolitan area, as established by the Metropolitan Transport Plan.
- Management of the Metropolitan Transport Plan.
- Establishment of the tariff framework for the provision of services within the Consortium's territorial scope.
- Promotion of the unified image of the transport system in the Seville Area.
- Promotion of Public Transport.
- Determining the amounts to be received by transport operating companies in accordance with the criteria established in the Metropolitan Transport Plan, taking into account the requirements of public service obligations.
- Distribution of contributions or subsidies received from various authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the Metropolitan Transport Plan and the program contracts that may be signed with transport operating companies for this purpose.
